Michael MacDonald isn’t a career politician — and he doesn’t think California’s problems are inevitable. He’s spent his career inside local government, seeing what works, what doesn’t, and what happens when Sacramento’s decisions collide with the realities families and communities face every day. He’s watched friends get priced out, felt the same rising costs, and grown frustrated with a politics that keeps asking Californians to pay more while accepting less. Michael is running because we don’t have to manage decline — we can change it. He brings the experience to understand government, the independence to challenge it, and the urgency of a new generation ready to address the causes, deliver results, and build what’s next. Make California affordable, build the housing we need, confront climate change, protect our freedoms, and create opportunity for the next generation.
California should be a place where a paycheck covers the bills, a good job can lead to a home, families feel safe, our rights are protected, and the next generation can afford to stay.
